Given the cold snap we had low expectations for the day and were happily surprised to catch good numbers of flounder and snapper a nice red and some squirrel fish big enough for the table. After reading reviews my wife and I decided to splurge during our trip to Destin this fall and book a 3 hour trip to take our 9yr old son on. We just got back to our condo and cannot say enough amazing things about Captain Si. He put us on fish fast and kept us on fish the entire time. He realized our son knew his way around a rod & reel so he changed things up mid-trip and put us on even larger fish. Our son had a blast and caught so many fish!!! We caught Redfish,

“Great trip with Captain Si I got on here to write a review, and I was excited to see that I was one among many to give this fishing excursion a great review, with the main reason being Captain Si. My wife, 8 year old son, and I went out on a beautiful day. It was my son's first time fishing in a boat (I'd taken him fishing on the shore in a few lakes), and he hadn't yet caught a fish. Captain Si to the rescue. He took us to a great spot in the Bay, and using shrimp, my son caught his first fish, and many more. Wife and I also caught quite a bit. We caught Pinfish, Pigfish, Lizard Fish, Mangrove Snapper, and I had what Si said was a huge (25 incher) redfish that literally bent the hook and got off. We all had a great family experience, and it was exactly what we were hoping for... a nice time for the family to get out on the water and for our son to catch a fish or two... didn't matter how big or how many. “Captain Si was great! Before pushing from the dock, he carefully explained boat safety as well as fishing safety. He gave us a choice of fishing in the Gulf or in the bay. We went out to the Gulf however it was a bit rough. Si had no problem taking us back to the bay for a better experience. He was personable and knowledgeable. “Perfect kids fishing trip, even better guide - Traffic made us a few minutes late and just as we got on board, our youngest totally lost it. Captain Si was completely patient with us as we tried to deal with the situation. The youngest ended up staying behind with mom and we went ahead. Once the fishing began, he was able to continually keep the kids engaged and interested, even during the slower times, but there weren’t too many of those. Started off catching smaller stuff, but soon moved to catching flounder, redfish and jack, all in the span of less than 2 hours. Allowed the kids to participate fully and made it a whole lot of fun. Our family booked a fishing trip with this company in Oct 2019 and were taking our 8 & 6yo kids out for the first time. We were hoping for someone who would be good with kids. Our kids had a blast because of Captain Si. He was patient, helpful and made it his priority to make sure everyone was having fun. Since the Gulf was rough that day, we stayed in calmer waters and caught plenty of fish in the bay. The kids had so much fun and knew we would return.

Fast forward to this trip May 2020. With FL being closed to short-term rentals, we stayed in a Orange Beach, AL and drove back to Destin just so we could have Captain Si again because he was so awesome last trip. The kids went gulf fishing this time and still had a blast. Not only is Captain Si great with the kids (being a father himself), he’s knowledgeable, understanding of those that get sea-sick and takes care of everything regarding bait/tackle and helping get the fish off the line for the kids.
